They're not great once they've been frozen - they become very tasteless and a bit woody. That said, ever tried roasting mushrooms? Ummm, delicious. They shrivel a bit but the flavour is soooo intense, that I doubt if even freezing them would ruin the experience!

It must be possible as you can buy sliced frozen mushrooms. I always have a bag in the freezer and they cook up really well (not as good as fresh but far better than tinned). I don't know how you're supposed to prepare them though.
