I'm having a 40th birthday party and need some ideas for easy, tasty cold finger foods, preferably without pastry.

baba ganoush too: aubergine in oven until soft and squishy and then mixed with garlic, olive oil, coriander etc (not authentic recipe but google it and you'll find one) nice alternative to hummous

I once did this, lightly toast some white bread, get a small round cutter and cut out 4 circles, thread on a cocktail stick with a round of emmental or blue chees, round of pepparami cherry tom/olive or such. They went down a treat and looked good. Only problem was it took ages to do the bread toast circle thingys. Everyone loved them.

Good old cheese & pinapple goes too.

Cream cheese along celery.

dips of any kind with carrot, celery, peppers
