After all this winter weather, I'm in the mood for soup, but I'd like tried and tested yummy recipes please.

Nigella's pea and garlic - boil frozen peas in chicken/veg stock with cloves of unpeeled garlic and old Parmesan rinds if you have any. After about 20 mins, pop garlic out of skins, get rid of cheese and whizz in blender. Can be finished with cream if you're in the mood

leek & Potato

4 big leeks, 6 potatos...

wash and trim leeks, slice thinly, peel potatos, cut into chunks. Olive oil and butter in the pan, heat it, add the leeks, sweat them for a bit, add the potatos, then stir.

cover with a kettle full of boiling water,add bouillon powder - chicken or veg. - simmer, can either leave it chunky or blend, and add creme fraiche x
