Ok, novice alert. Going to try a stir fry tomorrow.
I'm thinking, marinade some chicken strips in soy, ginger, garlic and clear honey? Heat some sesame oil til smoking, then toss in onion, garlic, chicken? then the veggies and then beansprouts & cooked noodles last, and throw in the remnants of the marinade? or have i got it in the wrong order? probably would be easier to follow a recipe but cant find one on line that i like that looks easy to do!

That would work but sesame oil will burn and should only be added at the end for flavour. Also make sure you cook the marinade thoroughly as if it has had raw chicken you could get poisoning if it has not been cooked properly.

THanks! What oil would you recommend then for the initial cooking process?

Regular veg oil which is usually rapeseed oil. Also it may be a good idea to add in the garlic and honey towards the end too as they both tend to burn. Good luck, it will be lovely and you will make it forever

Agree that sesame oil should only be used for flavouring and not as oil for cooking. any type of oil is fine. I usually use sunflower oil.

Thanks for the replies and advice. Made it last night, Dh & i, plus the 17 mths old devoured ours, loved it, but the older two refused to eat it...grr...will try it again with them, cos it was really nice! But if not will keep it for DH and my supper. Going to try it with beef and chilli in the marinade for us adults at some point, confidence beginning to build!
Thanks again
