Some dried herbs?
Sorry, dieting and trying NOT to think about food!

chopchopbusybusy · 06/03/2007 11:13

You can get vegetarian worcester sauce. I buy it from Tesco. It's in the free from aisle. Don't know if it's any good or not though - I buy it for DH. It probably won't be bland if you use a vegetable stock - I like Marigold powder which is vegetarian. You could add a teaspoon of curry powder - it won't make it hot just add a bit of flavour.

NotanOtter · 06/03/2007 11:14

yes - i have done lizzie!!

You are allowed to think about a healthy veg soup when dieting!!!

chopchopbusybusy · 06/03/2007 11:15

Sorry - just noticed one of your ingredients is suede - won't that be a bit chewy?

NotanOtter · 06/03/2007 11:17

i blitzed it!

For kids to make it more zingy but without making them scream with pain I use ginger and garlic and a bit of black pepper, maybe a pinch of paprika

NotanOtter · 06/03/2007 11:18

i also added a tin of green lentils

That sounds nice ABITanxious- i steer away from garlic as they eat at school and all seem to spend their lives reeking of it

mushroom ketchup and or a teaspoon of marmite. I always add marmite to veggie stew as it (scuse the pun) beefs it up a bit

NotanOtter · 06/03/2007 11:20

great - will do bewilder - good for them too

Not heard of mushroom ketchup!

you can get it in the supermarket its quite a thin liquid and it's really nice in stews, soups, pies etc just adds a bit of extra savory to things

janeite · 06/03/2007 17:10

lol at suede! My two like a bit of cumin in veggie soup; it gives it warmth and flavour without heat.

NotanOtter · 06/03/2007 17:18
