Does olive oil go off?

I've got a jug of it that I've had a long time. It doesn't smell funny, but wondered if it had a 'shelf life'?

It can go rancid but if it tastes ok it should be fine, particularly if it is in an earthenware jug or has been stored in a dark place.

As carmenere says, it should be ok if it's been stored in a dark place.

It may have solidified a bit at the bottom in which case strain the oil if you want to use it in a salad but if you are using it for cooking there's no need.

It's in a cabinet, so presumably that counts as a dark place. It is in a glass jug - the one it came in. But, it is the cabinet over the oven, so perhaps warmer than ideal? I mainly use it for salads, and it seems to taste ok.
