I don't think I'm THAT bad DS2 is nearly 8 months and has been weaned for 3 or 4 months on the best I can boil, puree and freeze. Bloody hours I spend doing this to give him nice, fresh stuff. All of a sudden, he has decided that if it ain't a tin, jar or packet, he isn't going to eat it...
What is going on?!!! Grrr!!!!
Any advice, I'd really prefer him to eat homemade stuff, rather than Heinz

put your own food in the jar and pretend you're just opening the jar as you're about to feed him. or, try mixing them and gradually increase the quantity of home made food until that's all he's eating

and never show a small child that certain foods come from packets /jars & tins! (i've learned that on my own)

maybe, he likes teh stuff in jars because it's mixed (veg+meat, rather than veg sepparated from meat)???

oh lisa, no advice, but i so feel for you, nothing worse than having the fruits of your sweat and tears rejected by your beloved offspring...grrrrr

DD never got to the stage of rejecting all my cooking, but she did have a tiny stage-ette of clearly preferring jars. It didn't last long, however, so I wouldn't worry much if I were you.

compromise by having a jar that you squash fresh steamed veg into? Our DS loved the Pumpkin, swede and Lamb with mashed broccoli and carrot in it.

Ok, will try these
And if that fails, give him nothing but cabbage

My ds1 waited until he was 18 months, and then decided he only wanted to eat cr**. Is better now, but I think its a stage they all go through. Just think you have done so well so get this far, don't beat yourself up, and definately don't do what I did, if he didn't eat first choice give second, third, fourth etc etc. With ds2 first choice rejected, no second chance. They soon learn.
