Is it DEFINITELY okay to freeze biscuits??

I've just made some chocolate chip cookies for my daughter's party next Tuesday (27th) ... I've been told it's okay to freeze them but my mother sounded surprised about that and so I'm just double checking with anyone who knows!

The plan was to make the cake, choc chip cookies and shortbread biscuits today and tomorrow (ie. when I have the time) and then freeze them until Monday, when I'll take them out for the party the following day. Making them this early on, I assumed that they would start going stale even in a supposedly airtight tin.

TIA!

shortbread will keep for weeks (if you have the self control not to eat them!)

doesn't exactly answer your question, but it's another posibility for you...

Thanks Tassis - maybe I'll put the shortbread in an airtight tin then because that'll free up space in my freezer.

Do you know anything about freezing the cookies?!

I've frozen cookie dough and it's been grand - actually makes it quite easy to cut. Not sure about freezing the actual cookies though.

Do you think the cookies will last (out of the freezer) all right until next Tuesday though if it's not okay to freezer them

... er ... think that would be 'onset' actually - it's the addled brain. Thought I was being really organised and getting ahead for next week's party and it turns out I might just have wasted all the effort on the biscuits that won't keep nicely instead!

Okay - thank you all anyway. I'm going to Plan B - I've put them in the freezer and will take them out next week and taste them once they've defrosted. Fingers crossed they'll be okay, if not then I'll dump them and send DH out to buy a SOS party pack ... and will know not to try this time-saving method again in the future .
