Waffle recipe anyone?

Got a waffle iron for my birthday; the recipe on the box involved 6 eggs for 8 waffles and was yummy but perhaps too rich; I found one on an old Mumsnet thread with only 2 eggs and 2 tsp sugar but this came out tasting too much of batter.... anyone have a favourite?

Plus, is it possible to make savoury waffles as well as sweet?

I don't know about savoury, but our bfast recipe is 125g sr flour, 1 tbsp caster sugar, 1 egg, 2 tbsp melted butter, 1/4 pint milk, 1/2 tsp vanilla essence. Mix dry ingredients, add egg, melted butter, milk and vanilla. Beat to make smooth batter, cook for about 3 mins. enjoy!!
