Can I use Mozzarella in a chesse sauce?

I don't have much cheddar and am making a cheese sauce for a lasagne and wondered if you could use mozzarella instead.

No-sorry-would not be good.

Can lay loads on top of the lasagne though.

I used Mozzarella once to make a cheese sauce,it's not the best cheese for the job but if you shred it finely it will eventually melt

It goes very stringy and doesn't have much flavour so not a good idea! I would just make a white sauce and maybe flavour it with nutmeg if you have any, and put the mozzarella on top of the lasagne. HTH

put a stock cube in the sauce to bump it up a bit taste wise.

wouldn't put the mozarella in - see below
