I haven't used the thing for years, god knows if it even works

sometimes I come across a recipe that says use it but I can't be faffed getting it out and end up using the minichopper on my handblender - sometimes it is too small for the job but I really can't be faffed with the huge processor and don't want the ugly ass thing on my worktop

it takes up a whole load of cupboard and I really want to buy a roasting tin but have nowhere to put it

but I feel bad because I think as soon as I freecycle it I will end up needing it

Soup? I use mine for soup and smoothies and making breadcrumbs. In fact I use it loads.

Bread. I've just found the dough attachment for mine & I've started using it rather than my bread maker. My breadmaker is probably been heading for Freecycle recently as I was only using it for the dough. I prefer my own throw together bread to the shop stuff recently. Keep roasting tin in oven maybe?

I use the handblender for soup

and then run it under the tap

I got sick of washing the damn thing tbh

and that was even when I was a young single thing with no kids to cook for

I use my processor for: chopping onions and carrots and other hidden veges for bolognaise sauce, making pancake mixture and fairy cakes and err that's it. I can't really justify it but it does work well. buy a small chopper that can go on your worktop (Magimix make one - and you can get a blender/food processor combo as well, I think Cusinart make one) and get rid of it?

My Mum gave me her old mixer/food processor years ago - one of those gigantic things with a fabric cover. I never used it and it just took up room on my worktop so I got rid and have never missed it. I have a little Braun one with chopper/whisk/blender attachments and I use it all the time - it hardly takes up any room.

If you've not used it for years get rid of it!

I use mine for cakes

Is it a thing with a see through plastic bowl with a whizzy blade that you can chop onions etc in? And a kind of stick thing with a little whizzy blade (for blending soups etc)? And two whisks so you can use it as an electric whisk too?

I got mine when ds1 was born - so it's ten years old and I use it several times a week. It's fab.

I use the blender attachment of my food processor every week for soup.

I also use the blender once a week or so for smoothies and a couple of times a month for breadcrumbs.

The actual processor bit I use about once a week for making coleslaw. I also use it once a fortnight or so for massive batches of things - cakes, grating cheese (I freeze grated cheese for future use), chopping onions etc.

For making ordinary cakes I tend to use my hand mixer, but use the processor once I get to double batches or more.

I wouldn't like to do without mine, although I would like a super-duper more powerful one.

the minichopper bit with the blade is a little bit too small but I only use it every couple of weeks so I struggle on

and the whisk attachments do nice lemon drizzle cake which is the only requirement I have for them

If I got rid I could buy a nice roasting tin

and a big bowl for making cakes

and a bigger cake tin

It is a bit small - but I only really use it for onions, so it's fine.

I'd get rid of the big one, definitely.

when i'm not sure about getting rid of things i put them somewhere inaccessible - loft usually. then if i haven't gone hunting after six months they can go without guilt or worry. i think your cupboard is the equivalent of that

I guess I'm hanging on to it because it was a gift and it has hundreds of different attachments

but I really must learn to Let Go

after all I don't know what most of them are for

I think I've been expecting to start using it when I grow up

but I'm 37 and it hasn't happened... it isn't likely to is it?
