Hi my 19 month old twins have become fussy eaters and afer having another home cooked meal spat back at me i, in desperation heated up a Heniz big soup, which they loved! What are these like nutritionally? Are they any good for them (salt levels are ok) Do the veg count towards their 5 a day? I know I can make them myself, but i am talking quick and easy bad mum food to use when my good mum food is rejected!

Toms had a few mouthfulls of Heinz tomato soup and hes 9 months. It smells exactly like the Heinz baby food with tomato in.

I give my DTS, who are nearly 3, both homemade and tinned. They prefer the homemade. There is nothing wrong with giving them the tinned stuff. I take a holistic view of their diet and as long as they are eating plenty of healthy, nutritional stuff most of the time, then I'm happy. My parents gave me tinned as well as homemade food and I'm very healthy.

FWIW, the tinned stuff that I have had recently tastes as if there is less salt in it.

It's fine as long as it's not their staple diet.
