Curry it! It's surprisingly nice!

Oati · 07/02/2007 17:22

enchiladas
tacos
nachoes grande

kebabs - mix in some chopped onion, garlic and ginger paste (not too much ginger), coriander powder, fresh coriander and salt and chili powder if you want. Add a beaten egg and some breadcrumbs (I either crush Jacob's crackers or croutons and use those), mix it all up really well with your hands. Shape into flat round shapes and fry in a bit of oil. I usually fry a tiny bit first and taste it to see if more salt is needed.

Could have them as burgers.

I second Oati with the taco suggestion. My dh's children love finger food and apart from being yummy, it's fun to put together...

ska · 07/02/2007 17:27

yep, tacos are the kids fave food, lovelt and messy and goo dfun. buy the taco box from tesco but do your own fillings: savoury mince plus grated cheese, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes even avocado if you have it toppped off with plain yoghurt! Very good!

Tortillas...hmmmmmmmmm
Meatloaf with cheese surprise or hard boiled egg in the middle.
Mincemeat pizza (basically spice and fry Mince meat, with onions) then put into a baking tin like a pizza base and top with sliced Tomatoes and Mushrooms and cheese and put under the grill)

3andnomore · 08/02/2007 10:14

forgot to say, also helps to add an egg or two to teh mincemeat before shoving it into the oven, lol. And probably better to cook it in the oven then under the grill...

speedymama · 08/02/2007 11:04

Mince in a hole. It's like toad in the hole but you use mince. Just cook mince with onions, carrots, seasoning etc, heat oil in pan in oven, add mince and pour on batter. Cook in oven as you would toad in the hole. I got that from Best magazine and tis very good!
