OK I am thinking of doing this sort of theng, but unsure on the sizes of the boxes. How much of each item do you get? What size box would do a family of 4 with 2 kids who only eact the basics (broccoli/carrots/spuds/onions etc) I am vegetarian so eatloads of veggies and DH like some not all veggies

Do they always have potatoes?? we don't eat many, usually eat pasta/rice

River Nene are aprt of Riverford .

I have a mixed fruit and veg box, which I supplement with thestuff I rely on bananas, apples, potatoes.

Some have potatoes, some don'y.

have a look on the website as they have a predicetd contents ection and I think you can browse the contents for the last few weeks.

I would suggest a mixed box for you and supplement if you feel the need, as we do.

Riverford doesn't allow you to ban items, but I have gfound this useful now (annoying at first) as I have learne3d ways of cooking things I thought I hated, if that makes sense?

We get a medium veg box, a fruit box and a fruit bag from riverford (or maybe rivernene not sure which as same company)

It feeds me and dh, plus ds (toddler) we puree and freeze leftover veg for dd (not weaned yet) or freeze as meals, or give any going a bit funny (calabrese goes brown quite quick) to the guinea pigs. We very rarely throw anything away.

It is a lot of veg though. We never have to supplement it (unless by things like garlic etc) we still supplement the fruit - but we eat a LOT of fruit!

Oooh, thanks Crunchie - i was looking at abel and cole yesterday but they don't deliver to our area. River nene do. Much prefer A and C website - much more guidance on which size of box for what size family and you can 'ban' food that you don't want....Rivernene have beetroot in some of their boxes this week - Bleurgh!
