Going backwards: 17 months refusing to eat lumpy food

DS is 17 months and at around 9 months atarted happily eating chunks of cheese, fruit, veg and so on. For the past 3 months he's gone in reverse and now everything is back being pureed which worries me. Slightest lump and he spits it out and refuses to eat anything else.

What do I do now?

Has he been sick or anything? DS did this at 14 months after a bad week of sickness.

I just gave up trying to force him with the lumpy food, went back to purees, then gradully built it up again. I found that lots of finger food - toast, breadsticks, chopped up fruit etc really helped get him back onto chewing again. (My ds is also very lazy and would happily let me puree everything!)

Don't worry too much. As long as he's eating regular healthy meals I'm sure he'll be fine.

He did go through a bit of a poorly patch a while ago when he kept being sick - does that make a difference?
