Cream is a splendid foodstuff for a one year old! They need fat. And the salt panic is overdone. This is not a high salt food.

WideWebWitch · 04/02/2007 11:43

Ime one year olds cope well with spices. It'll be fine and the ingredients list looks fine too.

Aloha · 04/02/2007 11:43

Oh and it does not take 'two minutes' to make a sauce like this unless, by sheer good fortune you happen to have Cream, Onions, Coconut, Lemon juice, Cane sugar, Sunflower oil, Desiccated coconut, Tapioca starch, Sea salt, Coriander, Garlic, Ginger, Turmeric, Cumin, Cayenne pepper, Paprika powder, Cardamom, Cinnamon** = Certified Organic

In in the cupboard already.

Thanx for the salt info. Haven't got a jar here at mo but will bear in mind when working out how much to use.

Jar contains 350g of sauce (well, the balti version does, I don't have any korma in the cupboard at the moment). We would use half a jar for 4 kids so that's 3.5g salt divided by 4...ummm...less than 1g each but pretty close - but then the kids I feed range from 5 years down to 1 and their portion sizes range too.
Too much maths

Moondog making your own Korma sauces does NOT take two minutes!!!!!

Takes bloody ages!

SnafuOutOfHiding · 04/02/2007 14:59

Oh, moondog, you are a scamp.

I am a fan of SoC sauces and I would not worry re: salt content, either. A one-year-old isn't going to have more than a spoonful of it anyway, surely?

misdee · 04/02/2007 15:00

i had a lovely young man behind the counter at asda offering me his korma recipie. actually he offered to come and cook it for me

Millarkie · 04/02/2007 15:15

..but did you ask about the salt content of his sauce misdee

misdee · 04/02/2007 15:17

no!

Lullabyloo · 04/02/2007 15:17
