I used to do this all the time

It's milk, brown sugar & eggs but in what proportion

Is it 3 eggs, 3oz sugar & a pint of milk....or half a pint??

Any ideas??

I do 3/4 pint, 3 eggs, 1oz sugar myself but usually with caramel etc so custard itself doesn't need to be as sweet.

Last time I did 27 eggs - so you will forgive me being a little shaky on the proportions
