Roast chicken

I roasted a chicken on Thursday. I've still got most of it in the fridge (today - Sunday) Can I boil it up for soup safely this evening?

I know this type of thing is asked regularly on here so I'm sorry for being repetitive - but if anyone has "a copy of the rules" for reheating chicken, that would be useful! Thank you.

Yes!

Hi Peaches. Don't know the 'rules' - but I would do this. You are going to be simmering it for a goodish while, so provided it is thoroughly reheated, I would think it will be OK.

Well I don't know "the rules" so to speak, but I think the chicken's gone past it best. For me personally, I wouldn't use it after a couple of days.

OK, that's 2 to 1 in favour. Any more?

hmmmm...did you cook it thursday night? if you give it a really good simmer and eat tonight , then i;d chance it....but we have iron constitutions....

Well, really planning to give it a good simmer tonight then freeze. Happy with the freezing / recooking bit. Do that often. Think I'll go for it....
