This will be the first time I do a roast dinner and I have no idea what timings are for it.

I have to do:

a chicken
roast potatoes
broccoli
cabbage
carrots

and possibly yorkshire puddings.

Also how exactly do I do roast potatoes!

Thanks

potatoes

  • place peeled and cut pots into salted water, bring to boil.
Boil for about 7 or 8 minutes. Not long enough to cook them. drain, give them a shake about to rough them up a bit. place baking tray in preheated 180 degree oven with veg oil in. Leave for 2 or 3 minutes. remove. put potatoes into hot oil, turn them so they get covered. back in the oven for about 45, turning occasionally.

Chicken - depends on size. follow pack/butcher instructions.
But deffo let rest for a good 10 mins at end.

carrots prob about 20 mins boiling, broccoli more like 5 mins.
