8oz 225g sr flour
2 teasp baking powder
2oz 50g butter
1oz 25g caster sugar
1 egg
milk
Put flour and baking powder in bowl. Add butter and rub in till looks like breadcrumbs. Stir in sugar. Crack egg into jug and add 150ml of milk. Mix in to the flour until it is a soft not too sticky dough (may not need all the milk). Turn on to floury surface - knead and roll out and cut into shapes you want (around a thickness of 1cm).
Put on baking tray, brush tops with leftover milk/egg combination.
Bake in oven for around 10 mins till golden brown. She says do oven at 200C - I find her oven things too hot so did mine at 180C for 10-15 mins and that was fine.
For fruit - add 2-3 oz dried fruit after the butter has been rubbed into the flour.
