lamb mince - can't do shepherd's pie - any ideas?

I love shepherds pie but ds absolutely will not touch it atm. not going to try. any other thoughts?

do you need egg to bind lamb burgers??

Hows about Moussaka? Does it look a bit too much like shepherds pie, or is DS just suffering from Shepherd's Pie Fatigue and longs for a new flavour?

Shepherd's Pie Fatigue? Some chance. Basically ds likes all individual items of food to have a 3-mile exclusion zone round them. he also hates any form of wet food.

I guess I could just serve potatoes and shepherd's pie insides separately but i'm a serious wet feeder so we still have conflict over how much fluid is legitimate

What about a cobbler, like a shepherds pie but with scone/ dough boys on top, my two love that.

My son is 10 and he still doens't like food together, it can touch on the plate now but he does seperate it all and scraps off mince from the cobbles argh, he was gagging last night trying to eat a bit of pepper .

Oh my friends DS suffers from that CF. It's a nightmare I understand. Meatballs are great - you can hide loads of other foods in them (carrot/anchovy etc etc)

so how do you do meatballs then?

is it burger but in a round shape, then cooked in a pan for erm 30 mins with some sauce? or something?

Tried googling this morning but i only ever seem to find 'exciting spicy new takes on old favourites' when what i want is the sort of recipe that has four ingredients, including salt and pepper, and two lines of instruction.

Meatballs:

Process same volume of breadcrumbs to meat (maximum, you may want to use less but I'd say no less than 1/2)

Fry onions and then blitz with a bit of milk

If you want to add carrot undetected I would steam it and then blitz it

Add a bit of squashed anchovy instead of salt (and then you get a bit of oily fish goodness)

Mix all up in a bowl. If you need more liquid, add milk.

Roll into balls and cook in the oven around gas mark 5 until browned, rolling around occaisionally.

Great to freeze too!

I might do meatballs too for dinner as I have mince out defrosting and no idea what to do with it, still fancy a cobbler but DS perobably won't eat the mince.

Might just do burgers .
