Strawberry tart

DH asked if I could make him one so I found a recipe on UKFood website and it was a disaster. It just tasted foul. Maybe it was me but I doubt it, I'm usually good at these things.

Therefore, does anyone have a proven recipe for making a strawberry tart?

can you really be getting good enough strawberries in January? Could that be the problem?

How does he envisage the tart tasting and whta kind of texture?

TBH, I have no idea because I personally don't like strawberries. I used this recipe here and I did not like the way the cream sat on the base, the cream did not taste right and the whole ensemble just did not work.

ah, well now, what you should have been using was a creme patissiere which has eggs and sugar and cornflour in it, like a stiff custard.
