Aldi - brilliant allergy labelling. Chocolate snowballs (in tub). Guylian type chocolate seashells and their ice cream - not sure what it's called but the small (500ml?) tubs are yumm! Other than that the basics like canned tomatoes, beans etc. are good and cheap. Fruit and vegetables are usually good too and I always like to have a browse around their offers of the week - usually just random stuff that you don't really need - until you see it that is! I have on occasion bought their wine too - never had to spit it out yet . I am told by the children that their cereal bars are not good!

Lidl - just don't like it

Love Lidl's :-
big cartons of Lemon Iced Tea
Slices of smoked cheese with chilli flakes
cheese coleslaw
chocolate chip shortbread

BBWBabeLisa · 28/01/2007 13:17

Oh just remembered

Lidl's carrot & coriander fresh soup from chiller was good, as were the big bag of mixed seeded ready to bake rolls

Didn't think much of the chilled pizzas, and agree the cling film is crap

Aldi for

Olive oil (EVO)
Tom Puree
Pestos
Mozzerella
Sliced continental meats
Pamesan cheese

The big supermakets charge tons for the above
