the sort of simple quiche recipes where I just add a few ingredients to the ready made pastry and put it in the oven...

TIA

Drop 3/4 eggs into liquidiser. Add piece of cheese, roughly cut up. Add an onion, also roughly cut up. Liquidise until fairly smooth. You can stir in some bacon rashers, cut up with scissors. Pour into pastry. Slice some tomato on top. Bake mod oven about 40 mins till filling set. You can add a chopped pepper if you wish.

thanks jangly - your recipe is similar to my bog standard one, but I dont liquidize it - but I will definitely try that!!! Any other ideas? I have a vegetarian friend coming for lunch at the weekend and I wanted a' unusual' recipe... TIA

put in some grated cheddar, then dot a few spoons of ricotta and a layer of spinach leaves, grate more cheddar, add eggs beaten with milk (50ml milk to an egg) until full and bang in oven, looks really impressive when you slice it!

fry onions and mushrooms, I add plain natural yoghurt at the beating the egg stage, a tablespoonful or more depending on how big the quiche is, makes the texture really lovely and different from most shop bought quiche

always make pastry, with lots of butter, beaten egg yoke and parmesan cheese, easy to make the day before and you need a huge quiche because it disappears very quickly

once the egg mixture is in I grate more cheese over and put on some sliced cherry toms, because they look pretty, fesshly ground pepper and a bay leaf, which annoys my dh....

hamlyn, you can, i am a crap cook but have a slight quiche obsession

even tried to make one during labour, I was bored during my homebirth experience, 20 mins later I had a baby, so only got to weigh out the flour
