can't help but... what about the perfect insulated lunchbox for a boy of 5 years plus? Can only find pooh bear/barbie/monsters inc and he doesn't want one of those. Plain ones? but can only find ones that are too big just for lunch. also suntan lotion anyone tell me name and where to find one that lasts all day? (I'll start another thread when I get the hang of this!) I read about one in Right Start magazine but have mislaid the info and am anxiously trying to find one for children that lasts "all day" and is waterproof as the advert said - but can't find it locally.

Try John Lewis for plain lunchboxes - all different sizes, with small drink bottles that you can chill or freeze. Quite reasonable - ours have lasted about 4 years, although we replace the bottles every so often (for about 40p!). You do need a bag or backpack to carry them in, though.

would agree with Copper. john lewis is the place! we have ones with handles and 2 sides to access. it suits us well, one side sandwiches, drink etc the other for nibbles. they come with a hip flask style bottle which has a sports top so easy for kids to use,(has never leaked as long as shut properly ) but it also has a deep slot which can fit a small bottle in.........hope this helps!

Thanks to all, I must away to J Lewis then as this seems the one stop shop! By the time september comes I should be well stocked with leak-proof everything!

Hi - just bought ds a nice plain blue insulated lunch bag from Matalan £5, separate bit at the bottom for sandwich box (same style as the Pokemon ones recently and the Princess one) - my ds is 8 and he no longer wants character lunch boxes.
