How do you stop them sticking to the baking tray?

I made home made wedges yesterday and they didn't stick - I blanched them first and then put them in a bag with some olive oil to get them coated before cooking them. I assume it was the oil that stopped them sticking.

My dh makes these and covers them in oil before putting them in the oven (raw). The tip then is to leave them till they are cooked without turning or anything. They will come off then. I didn't believe him but he was right. Not like my roasties that I turn half way through. He is in charge of chips now.

Think it helps if they are really dry when you put them in, par boiled or not . Also in the past I've had more success heating the dish with oil in before hand and think that "seals" the underside when you add the sliced potatoes.

how hot do you have oven?

poppiesinaline · 05/01/2007 17:34

Gas mark 6

I have made sure they are dry. Oiled the baking tray and the chips and they still look like they are going to stick huff

Did they still stick? Ours flick off and are really crispy on the bottom....
I think maybe heating the oil before you cook them might help, at least it does with my roast potatoes...

poppiesinaline · 05/01/2007 18:41
