I'm a veggie who needs to buy about 8lb of braising steak to make a casserole for New Year's Eve.

We have Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, Sainsburys, Lidl, Netto and Aldi.

Which should I go to?

Probably Netto but I would maybe try your local butcher too.

Butchers do by far the best quality meat, not as expensive as you'd think.
Supermarket meat tends to be coloured with artificial dye.
Alternative is to find a supermarket with a meat counter, I wouldn't touch pre-packaged supermarket meat with a bargepole (and I'm a confirmed carnivore!!)

Morrisons are the best for braising steak. best price too. after them, Co-op. not the rip off prices for braising steak like sainsbo's who dice it up for you and double the price.
