Cheerios - Nutritious snack or sometime treat?

My DD loves cheerios as a finger food to snack on, but I looked on the ingredients list and they contain sugar - what's the general consensus, does the wholegrain claim overide the sugar or should I go back to rice cakes (which she gets bored of)?

as long as she is not having loads of cheerios or anything else that is too sugary (and you dont mind her having them) then i wouldnt worry too much.

they taste quite sweet and I think they are about double the sugar of shreddies or cornflakes (that's from memory so will stand corrected if need be!)

I remember when I decided to only get reduced sugar cereal I cut out cheerios. Would shreddies subsitute as a less boring alternative to rice cakes?

sorry this is garbled dd taking non stop whilst I am typing.

Somethinglike 24%sugar IIRC
