Meat Overload!!!!

christmas2NDTIMEmistletoenwine · 21/12/2006 21:53

DH, in his wisdom has decided we are having~

Turkey
Beef
Chicken
Roast Pork
and Gammon

for Christmas dinner with ALL the trimmings!!!

Granted there will be 10 people to feed, all with different likes and dislikes, but I know it's excessive, indulgent and quite frankly ridiculous!!

So, given that all the meat is now sitting in the frigde and has to be eaten, any suggestions as to how to cook it all to perfection using my double oven.

One at a time is no problem, but I'm totally overwhelmed at the idea of 5 meats plus all the veg, stuffing, sausages in bacon etc. etc.

Simlpe ideas for making tasty roasts and running orders very much appreciated.

Is there any way I can cook any of the meat the day before, or am I clutching at straws here??

hunkermunker · 21/12/2006 21:59

DH, in his wisdom, can blinking well cook it then

I did think of that Hunker, but I would hate to ruin the festive period by him killing our nearest and dearest off with food poisoning!

So Lulu, if you cook it the day before, do you serve it cold? Is it safe to re-heat?
Sorry if I sound thick!

if i cook it the day before, i serve it from the fridge...well, leave it for a bit so not too cold !! i wouldnlt reheat it , as sometimes that dries it out..

That sounds like a very good idea Lulu

Thanks for that. I will definately get some of it done before hand then. It will save the headless chicken performance on the day.
