Spiced fruit loaf made with Panasonic breadmaker, recipe question...

I am just in the process of making my first spiced fruit loaf. Just wondered if anyone had made this by soaking the dried fruit in a bit of alcohol beforehand ? What do you Panasonic users reckon ?

No, this is the first time. I haven't soaked the fruit but thought it might add a kick next time if they were soaked in a bit of sherry or something. am looking forward to it...yum...
