Looking for glorious special Pudding for Christmas day for those who don't eat Christmas Pudding or mince pies. What are you having?

Yule log, and something appley. And/or maybe a cheesecake. Not super-wow, but we really really like them.

It'd usually be profiteroles in the mix somewhere, but we've slightly od-d on them recently.

A pandoro and possibly a berry pavlova, which will of course look just like the photos.

Pear almond and chocolate tart served warm with clotted cream
Raspberry pavlova
Cheese board

HermioneWeasley · 06/12/2015 19:20

Mont blanc - layers of meringue, boozy cream and chestnut with dark choc 'gravel' and white choc 'snow' on top.

It's insanely delicious.

HeyMicky · 06/12/2015 19:22

Chocolate roulade with salted caramel mousse filling and sticky toffee pudding

Cheese is an entirely separate course

HelenaJustina · 06/12/2015 19:24

Chocolate sponge pudding with really good vanilla icecream. Then I'm not left with loads left over as non of the DC eat Christmas pudding.

ipswichwitch · 06/12/2015 19:24

Trifle. It's the only festive tradition from DH's family I like and do in this house. Others I have not decided to follow include serving steak with the roast dinner but only for the men Confused, and the usual festive argument.

FondantFancy66 · 06/12/2015 19:26

Chocolate mousse. I'm also planning a ginger cake.

Pootles2010 · 06/12/2015 19:28

Chocolate roulade. The filling is whipped cream with white choc mixed in -gorgeous! Looks a bit plain, so I flick melted chocolate over the top in a messy artsy way

youngestisapsycho · 06/12/2015 19:29

Mum insists on trifle, kids always want chocolate, so usually a Yule log. Had a cheesecake and profiteroles as well last year, but we have less people this year.

INeedACheeseSlicer · 06/12/2015 19:35

I wanted to do a cheesecake, but DD doesn't like them , so now I am slightly at a loss.
DD wants homemade tiffin, but I don't think it is very Christmassy, or desserty, though I have agreed to make it instead of a Christmas cake.
I might make a chocolate and ginger cheesecake for everyone else, and DD can sit there with a slice of tiffin.
Love the sound of the Mont Blanc and the pear and almond tart.

CrepeDeChineWag · 06/12/2015 19:36

Thank you! So many mouth watering suggestions here, I'll have one of each! Forgot to mention that can't have nuts which is a shame as the chestnut meringue thingy sounds divine. I'm guessing that it's just not the same without them.

Yule log Christmas eve glutton

Trifle!!! Loooove cold custard, could do a really fancy one with lots of booze in.

Who needs boring old mincemeat products!!!

Nigella's cloud cake with cointreau cream

CrepeDeChineWag · 06/12/2015 19:39

ipswichwitch Shock just as well really as we all know that red meat prevents women washing the dishes up after

I've not checked yet, but I am hoping that M&S are doing their passion fruit mousse again this year (and that the children save some for me).

PitPatKitKat · 06/12/2015 22:32

Tiramisu
Chocolate Mousse
Ice-creams

Higge · 07/12/2015 07:45

An orange steamed pudding - maybe marmalade based with either custard or orange cream.

PurpleThermalsNowItsWinter · 07/12/2015 07:52

My selection will be Yule log or lemon cheesecake for something lighter tasting.

PennyHasNoSurname · 07/12/2015 07:55

Croquemnouche and a fruity thing (either pavlova or cheesecake).

PennyHasNoSurname · 07/12/2015 07:55

Croquembouche even

kiggenpaws · 07/12/2015 15:05

My DH insists on Viennetta. Which he only has at Christmas, and no other time of the year, because it's special.

Apparently we live in the 1970s....... But it makes him happy!

FurryDogMother · 07/12/2015 15:08

Sticky ginger pudding with ginger ice cream :)

DancingDuck · 07/12/2015 15:10

I want to make that Mont Blanc now. It sounds delicious.

LemonEmmaP · 07/12/2015 15:30

Boozy chocolate brownie trifle from Good Food's 2016 calendar - we are running a year ahead of ourselves! It's chocolate brownies, maltesers, Baileys, chocolate custard and Baileys infused cream - and not a calorie to be seen Grin

BarbaraofSeville · 07/12/2015 15:51

Surely it has to be trifle?
