It's a squash not a pumpkin

Just watched the great british christmas menu and become annoyed by whats-his-face from NI visiting a pumpkin farm - choosing his pumpkin variety and then bringing in a crown prince squash with which to cook.

I think I may need to get out more

I think that butternut squash has a superior taste/texture to the crown prince ones i've been getting in my vegbox

roast with olive oil, and cumin/garlic/rosemary/black pepper, whatever.
scoop it out of its skin once it's cooked. make a risotto with it or serve on bed of leaves with some toasted pine nuts, chunks of feta and a salad dressing.
or make soup

Bundle - try an onion squash - ooh

Fio2 - cover it in green and gold and red glitter and have it as a christmas decoration - seriously
