Savoy Cabbage

Can you inspire me? I normally just cook it in a drop of water and that's it. Nothing exciting or interesting!

Have friends coming tonight and want to serve the savoy I have in (from my veg box) as an extra veg.

To help with inspiration, for the main course I am serving pan fried sirloin steak with olive oil mash and a chianti butter sauce. Other veg will be baby carrots, baby cauliflower and some broccolli. Also have some baby leeks that I will braise with white wine and thyme.

Any inspiration?

I only know how to put it in my bra.

I like it shredded and fried, with some spices. And even a bit of pancetta.

Forgot to add that I don't eat meat - I am having tuna.

Ah, right, fry it in some oil, with cumin, coriander, or garam masala?

I second NQC - can also use onion and cabbage with or without bacon

I do do DH and friends part with some of the proscuitti (from the starter) if it will work same as pancetta. I can do a portion for me seperate. I have cumin and coriander, and I have onion.

I usually just shred and stir fry with ginger, garlic, soy sauce and other veg

Fry with oil, rather than butter?
For a few minutes max?

It has to go with the rest of the main.

if you don't want to spice it up you can do cabbage, onion and black pepper

hulababy · 08/12/2006 17:07

Excellent. Might leave out spices this time round, and do without the meat to make my life easier. Just do it with onion and black pepper.

what time do you want me to come round and help you eat it?

hulababy · 08/12/2006 17:13

As I haven't a reply from my text about their DD and if she'll have already eaten, I am now just hoping they've remembered it is tonight - oherwise I will need two volunteers to come round quickly, just after 7!!!
