Lots of you rave about slow cookers for busy mums with not a lot of time to cook - what's your favorite recipe? Do you cook whilst sleeping and reheat for dinner or during the day whilst at work?

Don't have a recipe off the top of my head but I'd like to know what else I can do in mine besides casserole.

I chop up some veges (onion, carrot, anything really) the night before, brown the meat in the morning, bung everything in the slowcooker, cover with hot stock & leave it on while you're at work.

If you have time, you can add dumplings about 30 mins before you want to eat.

YOu can prepare the veg the night before, leave in the fridge and then chuck it all in the slow cooker before you go to work - you don't have to brown meat if you don't want to.

I love chilli con carne in mine and curry too

I am so lazy - before work I throw in 2 packets of prechopped stew veg,a packet of stewed beef (raw), a tin of veg soup, a beef casserole mix and presto - when you get home the house smells gorgeous and all you do is serve up - this meal literally takes me seconds to make

Do you bother with all the pre-heating of the cooker and heating of the meat and veg etc or do you just chuck it all in cold?

I just bung it all in - it is left cooking on a low heat for about 8 hours though.
