Gingerbread men - how long do they last?

If I make gingerbread men now (5th December) will they keep until Christmas? I would like to make them as gifts and want to be sure they'll be delicious. I assume the answer is 'no' but how far in advance do I have to make them?

Not long in my house. A day perhaps?

Yes I can imagine... but let's pretend the biscuits are removed from the oven straight into a high-security store where no small/medium/large sized hands can get at them. How long would they stay fresh?

about 3 or 4 days max

Have womens institute xmas book and says about putting a gingerbread man in childs lunchbox with the date on as a countdown to xmas but says you would need to bake four batches so they are fresh - guessf rom this they last about a week.
