er - you put them in the oven.

Usually between 12- 20 mins. Not that we ever eat them. Oh no. Ahem.

cupcakes · 05/12/2006 11:49

Oh - do you mean ones you MAKE YOURSELF???

yes - par boil first. Jamie Oliver has a recipe. I'll just go and look.

i don't bother par-boiling. just stick them in a sandwich bag with oil & flavourings (garlic/paprika/herbs/salt/whatever) & then on a baking tray. about 30-40 mins at 200 degrees. ish.

Jamie says:

parboil 10 mins
toss in frying pan with oil and crushed garlic cloves and pepper.
Transfer to preheated oven tray and cook for 20-25 mins at gas 230.

I don't parboil either. I lightly spray a baking sheet with oil. Toss the chips in some olive oil & paprika. Bake at 200C for about 30 min. I turn mine after 20 min.

i do both, jamie version gives more chiplike results, unboiled is more potato wedgelike (i don't peel them) and can have a bit of a chewy outside.
