Is tinned lentils and beans cheating?

Is it less healthy to buy tinned lentil, beans, chickpeas? Seems such an effort to leave to soak overnight and such a long time to cook the non-tinned. Am I being too lazy?

i use red lentils which don't need any soaking. i don't think puy lentils do either. i used tinned beans & chickpeas, preferably ones with no added salt.

I can't see what the difference is really. I always use tins these days, don't have the time to faff about.

You mean you don't grow your own?

Seriously, never heard of any claim for dried being healthier (except for the salt thing in some cases, as Hoxtonchick suggests) - just cheaper.

ok....thanks. Tinned it is then!

Erm .... tinned, love. Life's too short to feel guilty over chickpeas and beans !
