Whose Christmas cake recipe should I use?

I'm torn between Nigel Slater's in the Kitchen Diaries, or one of Nigella's in Feast, or even one that was in the Observer Food Monthly last week (This post is also my entry into the 'Who is the most Middle Class Competition' )

Has anyone done any of these? I'm not a novice, I just haven't made a Christmas cake before. I don't like nuts, so usually put in mre fruit instead.

Thanks

I've used Nigella's Christmas cake recipe (in How to be a domestic goddess) for the past 6 years, it doesn't contain nuts.

I use (gulp) delia's every year - it is reliable and works. But hey I am not answering your question am I. Okay.

I would do Nigel Slater as I have heard his recipes are reliable and he seems like a right lovely and he likes traditional food and is not snobby about it. Why don't you get them out and see what really is the difference between them.

P'haps better to wait for the opinon of someone who actually knows, rather than someone who is rambling because she doesn't want to go downstairs and do teh weshing up

Thank you! I didn't think of consulting Delia -the shame! I am a big fan of hers - but feel that to do so now will only confuse me further.
