how do i make coating for home made fish fingers?

Have bought fresh cod and thought i could just buy batter but only batter in my local tesco was for pancakes ? Any suggestions?

Cut fish in strips.
Get a bowl of flour (season lightly if wish)
Get a bowl of beaten egg (1 will do)
Get a bowl of breadcrumbs (whizz up a few slices of bread in a blender) Equally a bowl of grains of polenta is nice
Dip fish strips in flour then egg then crumbs
Place on bakng sheet and bake in hot oven for 15 mins depending on size of strips
