Just one more thing... how many people do you know in RL who are all homemade/organic/free-range/from scratch etc.

Because I don't think I know any!
In fact, I think I am the most "bothered" person about food I know around here, and as you all know by now I feed my kids chicken dippers occasionally.

And I live in a fairly affluent, middle-class kind of area - admittedly in the provinces, not London.

amazing ignorance on this thread - nothing wrong with "frozen food" - depends what it is. e.g. for peas, don't bother with fresh unless you've grown them in your own garden - they deteriorate too quickly! frozen veg. is a lot better than much of the "fresh" veg on the shelves!

Like others, cook pretty much all meals from scratch (maybe have a takeaway once every couple of months) but I love cooking - don't buy organic though cos if I'm honest I'd rather have that extra bit of money to spend on other things and our supermarket bill is already astronomical due to buying 'expensive' meat and fish cos hate the idea of value meat. DD (17 months) has humzingers but that's the only bought snack thing. It sounds really good written down but trust me it's not as healthy as it sounds due to my inability not to add creme fraiche or cheese to most things!

TooTickeyDoves, if vegans don't have leather goods, then they probably have synthetic goods and the impact on the environment from making synthetic goods (which are derived from oil which itself is derived from dead animals) is likely to be much harsher.

Anyway wrt to original question, don't know and don't care.
