Non-diary recipes for dinner party please

Have 2 good friends coming for dinner plus their son who is 8. My mate has cancer & no longer eats diary so need some good ideas for food. It can't be too complicated as Ds will be running around everywhere! We don't eat meat but yes to fish.

PS they are real foodies!!!!

Thanks Popsycal - some useful stuff there...anyone got any good fish dishes or starters? Seems to always make Delias roasted stuffed peppers with anchovies but the rest of my starters all seem to be quite diary-ish.

Also if you use the site's search box, you will find lots of lovely recipes.
There is also a lovely one with hot smoked trout, oranges and horseradish dressing !! also very good and very easy.
