Help - dumpling query

When you put the dumplings in, do you put the lid back on or leave off?(casserole is in the oven)

Really don't like the word 'Dumpling'....

I always leave it off. Helps to make them brown and a bit crispy on top - which i like.

doesn't really matter, with it on i suppose they'll cook quicker
