fancy having a go at making my own this year

i buy a pack of puff pastry and a jar of mincemeat. i find that quite sufficient.

I do it slightly differently - I buy a pack of shortcrust pastry and a jar of mincemeat

(Adding a grated apple and a slosh of booze to shop mincemeat is about my limit, but I always use a heart- or star-shaped cutter for the lids because it screams 'homemade lovingly in a gingham apron' and is guaranteed to impress PIL)

Oooo mrs Badger, I will nick that, was going to use a star but will use heart instead

these are pretty much foolproof

I just use butter (well clover actually) but you get my point.

I'd love to hear from someone who actually has made them from scratch. I've made some in the past and they always tend to stick to the cases. Does anyone have a good recipy, please? Ta.
