I know I know... I'm looking for veal but having seen my butcher's horrified face after I asked, I don't have too much hope. I'll try my luck anyway. Does anyone know where I can find some? Thanks.

I know that Waitrose were featured on 'The F Word' as stocking British veal.
I think Sainsbury's also sell it.

British veal produced with far better animal standards than Continental veal.

There was an interesting episode of The Food Programme on Radio 4 about this a few weeks ago. Will see if I can find it...

The programme is here with lots of useful links too.

As far as I know it's quite hard to find veal in the UK. Something like 95% of veal produced in this country is exported (my info is probably well out of date now though)

I got some in Tesco last week, and my local Tesco is usually very unexotic. It's a Tesco Metro, and it doesn't even sell things like passion fruit or hot chillies. It was delicious. It's years since I've had veal. Where do you live?

I live in Norfolk. I'm looking for some mince veal to stuff my Xmas capon (another thing I'm not sure to get over here actually !). I'm French, very exotic for Norfolk

Norfolk's a bit far, I'm afraid. If you were nearer Glasgow I could have got you some and met you halfway. Good luck with your search.
