Gobbledispook · 07/11/2006 14:39

Hehehe

Y'know what I mean - buffets of the Iceland product variety!

schneebly · 07/11/2006 14:39

buffets are great!

Iklboo · 07/11/2006 14:40

Buffets chavvy?? Then how come most places charge you about £8 a head?

Iklboo · 07/11/2006 14:41

Ah - I see. Don't do Iceland buffets. Mine more the "Hogwarts" variety

Heathcliffscathy · 07/11/2006 14:41

I'll just get a spade I think

NothingButAttitudeOnMN · 07/11/2006 14:42

Well I am doing a buffet on Saturday to celebrate DS's first birthday loads of the family are coming. The food will be from M+S though, does that make a difference?

Steppy1 · 07/11/2006 14:42

I love buffets...though I draw a line at the "rice, cold peas & sweetcorn salad" that my mum used to make (every boxing day)....

Gobbledispook · 07/11/2006 14:43

Hey, look, I've done my fair share of buffets but you know what I mean!

CountessDracula · 07/11/2006 14:44

round the table???
You have two tables ffs

Heathcliffscathy · 07/11/2006 14:46

yes yes i'm going to try to, but may just give up soon.

i'm assuming that you found our buffet last year at our party (remember the polish cold meats? the maids of honour pie? the chocolate tart? eh? eh? eh?????) chavvy

CountessDracula · 07/11/2006 14:47

Excuuuuuuuse me young lady

Did I say chavvy?

I did not

CountessDracula · 07/11/2006 14:49

Actually idon't mind other people having them but won't myself (as long as it is not Iceland stylee)

I don't like it as I hate food sitting around. As you know I am one of those people who gets full and then that is it, I don't like to keep picking til I feel sick.

Heathcliffscathy · 07/11/2006 14:49

ahhhh yes sorry i forgot....you have phobia about food lying around.

[i think they are a tiny bit chavvy btw, but if you can't afford staff to hand things round, and don't want to do it yourself and are feeding the 5000 there is not much alternative is there?]

OP posts:
CountessDracula · 07/11/2006 14:50

But you don't need to hand round

Just divvy up into 2 lots and put on the tables

nailpolish · 07/11/2006 14:50

i still chuckle at the reference to Gillian McKeiths 'spread' of what folk have eaten that week the same as the Iceland ads

buffets are ok if proper plates are used

janeite · 07/11/2006 19:49

Iklboo - LOVE the "Hogwarts variety"!!! Although don't they just all eat chops and treacle pudding? Do they EVER have vege?!
