Anyone know how to make the lovely looking colourful biscuit icing you see in all the magazines???
I have just bought some cookie cutters online but have no idea how to do the icing bit...you know what I mean...the nice flat icing which miraculously is the same shape as the biscuit????

I have just used icing sugar and water icing dribbled on. It is not desperately neat but it looks pretty and you can flavour with lemon juice, or colour with food colouring. If it is flat and neat icing in the photos I would guess it is ready rolled icing?

hmm...thanks franny...I might do that..I have just been on martha's site and it all looks very complicated! Its royal icing and you have to pipe it out then smooth it over apparently....must take for ever! And I don't have a piping bag!

Oh martha

who is going to be looking at them, exactly? Is someone going to be coming round with a ruler to check you haven't gone over the edges?

If not, do the drizzly thing and let the children help. It will look artlessly chic and oh what is that word that is so trendy... primitive

Yeh they only get eaten anyway don't they!...they do look nice though in the magazines!
I just wish I was more of the crafty/arty/patient type!!!
