I alwasy make a trifle for christmas but usually it's from a box. This year I'd like to do a proper homemade trifle but I can't find a nice recipe anywhere.

Does anyone have one that would be willing to share? please?

I make a homemadeish trifle
Use thawed and sweetened frozen mixed summer fruit with stawberry jelly pour this ontop of sponge fingers. Top with fresh custard I buy it in a big tub from asda then top with whipped cream and fresh strawberrys and chocolate flakes to decorate.

ok well it is not in any way traditional but way easy and devine...

one packet choc fudge cookies
two cans boysenberries
300ml whipped cream
crumbly choc bars (flakes are good don't know if you get them there)

Drain berries and use a little juice on biscuits to soften in nice decorative bowl. Top with berries then with cream and crumble choc over top!!

I line the bottom and a little of the sides of the bowl with a sliced swiss roll. Make a strawberry jelly and when you have to make up the amount to 1pt use the juice of a tin of fruit cocktail and then top up the rest with water. Pour the left in the tin fruit onto the swiss roll and then pour on the jelly mixture. Leave to set. Then I cheat and buy a carton of custard, pop that on the top and whisk up some double cream and put that over the custard - don't whisk it too much otherwise it's hard to spread over the custard! Then decorate with glace cherries, 100's and 100's and chocolate sprinkles.

I do a nice strawberry trifle. Layer swiss roll around bowl and bottom. Pour a little sherry over cake slices. Layer sliced strawberries, strawberry jelly and custard. top with whipped cream, sliced strawberries and flaked chocolate. yummmmm

I don't like jelly, this is my trifle.
Slices of raspberry jam swiss roll, or trifle sponges split & sandwiched with raspberry jam. In a bowl with a good slug of sherry, a couple of tins of raspberries. Cover with ready made custard then whipped cream and toasted flaked almonds.
