Got a rare chance to go out at the weekend, baby sitters booked all weekend, and bored with my normal drinks, so whats your favourites. The only things I dont really like are beers, lagers etc. I need inspiration other than Smirnoff Ice please.

lol, that's the only thing I do really like (beers, lager etc)

Although have you tried campari and soda? - it's quite refreshing. Give it a whirl

HuwEdwards · 01/11/2006 23:09

Margherita - love 'em, but assuming you're in a pub/restaurant, I like a vodka and tonic.

handlemecarefully · 01/11/2006 23:10

jack daniels and coke - a bit sweet for my tastes, but still quite pleasant

lucy5 · 01/11/2006 23:10

Not very exciting but I like Vodka and tonic too.

harpsichordsgoingBANGandWHOOSH · 01/11/2006 23:11

gin and tonic, esp Bombay Sapphire

Macdog · 01/11/2006 23:16

A nice white wine.

Vague memories of Cheeky Vimtos being indulged in before pg!!

Sadly I bf so can't indulge much beyond a glass or so of wine

GunpowderTreasonAndSNOT · 01/11/2006 23:18

Dubrowka vodka, cranberry juice, lemon juice and crushed ice. In a sugar-rimmed glass.

I drink dry white wine at home but if I go out I'll have reef as it's not fizzy, so doesn't bloat you and it's a nice tasting drink. I do like archers and orange juice and also baileys - but it's a bit heavy for a night out.

zippy34 · 02/11/2006 15:55

Mmmmmm gin & tonic. Tall glass, LOTS of tonic & ice.

I haven't had one for nearly 9 months . I could probably make myself a large glass of tonic & ice as I like the gin so dilute but hell, it wouldn't be the same.... roll on due date!!!

Carmenere · 02/11/2006 15:58

G&T with lemon and loads of ice. Vodka and grapefuit juice is lovely too. Tequila and bitter lemon is an excellent drink too. If you like sweet drinks which I don't really Canandian Club and white lemonade is nice.

southeastastra · 02/11/2006 15:59

famous grouse! neat no ice

mascaraohara · 02/11/2006 16:00

meths.

Sparkler1 · 02/11/2006 16:01

Have gone of wine recently and have switched to vodka and coke. Also love Pimms and lemonade and occasionally Southern Comfort and lemonade. Oooh I feel a party coming on!

foxinsocks · 02/11/2006 16:04

depends what I'm drinking for I suppose

I like beer with curry, wine with any other meal, pint of bitter in the pub, vodka with orange or lime if I don't fancy filling myself up with bitter and sometimes whisky if I'm feeling shite.

corrina28 · 02/11/2006 16:43

southern comfort and canada dry with lots of ice or vodka lime and soda or yes mr president (southern comfort, jack daniels lemonade and lime)

EmmyLou · 02/11/2006 16:59

Margherita - salt round the glass, mmmmm! But don't know how to make them. Tend to leave spirits for when out. Except Xmas bottle of Bombay Sapphire gin - with loads of ice, tonic and lime.

Used to have a soft spot for Jameson's with ice - but that was a long time ago.

Now I like the odd glass of wine or a cold beer in summer.

Have recently (only occasionaly) been making Kir Royals after dds' bathtimes. ("Another story? Why the 'hic' not eh?")

aDadOnMumsnet · 02/11/2006 17:08

caiprinha's probably my fave cocktail - brazilian cachaca, loads of lime and sugar muddled together. a few of those and the vitamin C sees you through! works pretty well with rum instead too.

suzycreamcheese · 02/11/2006 17:24

the one in my glass is usually my favourite at the time!
I second the jamesons and ice, very smooth! g&t, lovely; khalua milk used to have that clubbing trying to convince myself it would help line my stomach!
just try something new from the selection available!

pointydog · 02/11/2006 17:25

ooohhh... vodka and coke if drinking out, beer if drinking in.

Whisky and green ginger in the winter.

Port, port and port over the festive hols.

pointydog · 02/11/2006 17:27

Ah yes, emmylou, kir royales are totally totally fabulous! ANother reason to look forward to the winter holidays.

Dottydot · 02/11/2006 17:27

gin and orange. Nothing like it - hits the spot for me every time! sigh..!
