Faddy eater coming for tea

Radley · 01/11/2006 14:10

I'm having my best mates son over for tea tonight and unfortunately he is a v v faddy eater, he won't eat chips unless the ends have been cut off, he will only eat cheetah meat (any meat from a deli) pizza, crisps and green drops from uranus (peas)

I like to give my children healthy food more often that not and was wondering if you have any advice.

I was planning on doing fish nuggets, cauliflower, peas and boiled potatoes, with sugar free jelly afterwards, does anyone else have any ideas what I could do?

Pasta? I often give plain pasta when DS has friends over. (With veg and fish fingers or chicken I hasten to add!).

Although if you know he likes pizza and yours like pizza then that is what i would do!

Make their own pizza - use organic pasta sauce as well...sauce, cheese, chorizo slices (not THAT bad if in moderation), something like that?

do whatever you want and stick it on a plate - faddy eater my arse - end of chips cut off indeed - overindulged maybe - dont entertain

End of chips cut off!!!?

Give him pizza, chips and peas, and a knife.

wannaBe1974 · 01/11/2006 14:18

chips with ends cut off? i mean there's pandering to a child because he won't eat certain things but ...

I would do pizza. Get them to make their own. Ironically we're having pizza tonight and I'm making the dough in the breadmaker and then ds is going to make his own ham and pineapple one.

otherwise I would serve whatever you're normally having and if he doesn't eat then he'll be hungry.

he cna bite the ends of his own chips surely...
Sugar free jelly?
Artificially sweetened? Sorry my bugbear
Whats wrong with sugar for kids?

THank you all for your replies,

Making their own pizza would be good, i think
I'm going to do lots of things to nibble on, washing up is no bother I have a dishwasher

I think I am going to do

Fish nuggets
Fish fingers
Sausages
Potato Croquettes
Carrot sticks
Ham

Then for afters

Grapes
Apple
Banana
Sugar Free Jelly

PIffle, I tend to get sugar free for myself all the time and they like that with me.
