Baking with maple syrup

I bought some maple syrup for the family to try on pancakes, none of them liked it. Can I use it in baking? Anyone know any recipes?

you can put it on squash when you roast it

Thanks cappuccino, will try it, I can imagine it would be nice on parsnips if I could get them over here!
